Producer Chris Young - Long Musical Career



Producer Chris Young has a long and distinguished career in the mainstream music industry. Working with both established and unknown artists, he has developed a reputation as an excellent producer and consistent hit maker. Young started his career in music after he graduated from the illustrious Interlochen Arts Academy alongside Josh Groban and Jewel. He played the trumpet and performed with Guns ‘N Roses, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After years of performing with some of the biggest names in music at the time, Young decided to develop his musical talent another way. He started studying music production, songwriting, and engineering. 



Producer Chris Young broke through in the engineering industry when he signed a major publishing deal with EMI, and later signed a deal with Ultra International Music Publishing. Young produced and composed music featured on a variety of television shows, major motion pictures, and advertising campaigns for many Fortune 500 companies. Soon after he stopped performing as a trumpet player, it seemed like people were drawn to Chris Young’s producing skills and artistry. 

Chris Young continued his career and worked on many different projects with a wide range of artists. He has helped produce for artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Korn, and Alicia Keys. He has also taken previously unknown artists such as Annie Baltic, whose single, “Low Key,” produced by Young, crept into the top 30 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Club Play Charts at number 27. Producer Chris Young says that he owes his long career to the connections he made with so many talented artists who have come to his studio.

Producer Chris Young - Member of the Academy



The music producer Chris Young is an accredited voting member for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which is the body of musicians that vote on Grammy nominations and winners. Young says that he relishes his opportunity to vote for the artists he thinks are working hard to improve the music scene every year. While he says that mainstream music industry still has many things to figure out as a whole, such as piracy, contracts, and the changing nature of how music is consumed, he has hope for the industry. Young has many years of experience helping artists achieve mainstream success. Many of the artists he has worked with have been finalists on television shows such as “American Idol.” He says that one of the greatest rewards of his job is seeing a new artist he has worked with to develop their sound make a huge entry in the mainstream music industry. Many of his protégés have seen their songs placed on the top of the Billboard charts.  

Producer Chris Young is proud of his recent inclusion with the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in the Producer’s and Engineer’s Wing. He says that this achievement is the crown jewel of his career, because he can shape who people recognize as influential musicians in the mainstream industry. He will continue to speak out for artists’ rights and find more young talent to add to the industry. Producer Chris Young has recently been working with many international artists to bring the global sound to the music industry in the United States.

Producer Chris Young - Community and Musical Work



Producer Chris Young has dedicated himself to helping his community in New York City. He works regularly with non-profits such as the Ronald McDonald House, the Friendship Circle, and the Special Olympics. Young is an experienced producer with many credits to his name. He has discovered many artists and helped them achieve fame and fortune with his musical production skills. He has worked with many artists from all kinds of backgrounds. He says that recently, his work with international artists has given him a deeper, more intimate understanding of sounds from all over the globe. 


As a producer, Chris Young has mixed, remixed and recorded many hits in his career, including  Cher, Ashlee Simpson, Alicia Keys, Wu Tang Clan and even Countess Luann’s hit song, “Money Can’t buy You Class,” which was  one of the top ten songs played on iTunes. Young and Luann met while on the set of “Real Housewives of New York,” and the combination of Young’s and Luann’s talent led to one of the breakthrough hits of the year. 

Producer Chris Young has been a voting member of the Academy of Recording Science since 2010, helping choose the Grammy nominees and winners for four years. Young has also been an outspoken proponent of musicians’ rights all over the world. In recent years, Young has worked with many international artists, which he says has widened his appreciation for global music and sounds. Young has worked with established artists and up-and-coming artists, helping them break into the music industry and hit the ground running with his excellent production.
